In the Asura mini pet page, read the very fine print at the bottom. It will tell you that if you have an issue with the validity of the code to contact them. I don't have the issue at hand with me and I don't remember the means that they give for contact (phone/email). I guess they added that part because they sell unwrapped issues as well, making code theft quite easy.

Yes, most likely, your code was stolen by other.
Is your PC gamer unwrapped or wrapped?
Never buy unwrapped version with any cd-key as they will have a 99% chance of been stolen.
PC Gamer support is the one you should find as they are the one who publish it. Anet merely gave them the codes and PC Gamer has the responsibilty to make sure those who paid for the book get their pet.
There is contact details in the book just like G_Magnus said. However, i do not think they will give you a new cd key as if they give cd key to everyone who call, everyone will have an asura. Anyway, good luck contacting them.

I would simply send an e-mail to PCGamer, and request a new code... politely that is.

Ok this sounds like the problem that we in the area i live in have been having. Some idiots have been opening the issues witht eh minipet codes in tehm and then just putting the magazine back on teh shelf after copying the code. Truly I wish that they would make it so you have to scratch off some silver coating to discourage this dispicable act. The reason behind doing this is to sell the Keycode either ingame or to get a mini then sell it and doing it over and over again. Both acts are dispicable and should be stopped. The remedy in my area is teh stores have begun putting the magazines either behind the counter or at teh registers where they can watch them more closely. The stores should not have to do this. Thats why when I buy a magazine that is supposed to be in a bag, I will search out an unopened one. I know this is a headache also but ti get what i want ill do it.

Copying the codes down, MegaMouse? Man, around here they used the technological approach. I watched a group of three youths taking the magazines out of the protective sleeves and snapping the codes on the DVD box with their mobile phone cameras! All this was in plain view of Sainsbury's security too.
Luckily, I'd already picked my sealed copy up before those imbeciles arrived though.
